60 Days of Summer

Hey there Pearls!

Coming up Live at the Pearl Company on Friday May 30 to June 1 is the fantastic play 60 Days of Summer! This Eco Theater project has emerged from a partnership between Scene Change and Environment Hamilton. This show is sure to be a great one! Here is a bit about what it's about!

Written by local students and teachers , 60 Days of Summer is a  story which follows the misadventures of a group of students who attempt to live a full summer with no eco- footprint. Earth is personified through song and movement. Packed with interpersonal tensions, dream sequences and plot twists, the outcome is not what the students expect.
" 60 days of Summer takes us on a theatrical adventures where young people challenge themselves to leave "no impact" on the earth- not just for 'Earth Hour'- but for an entire summer. The variety of backgrounds and world experience in this diverse cast allows them to explore some tough questions about the price of climate change and who pays. Infused with music, dance, and Eco-Inventions- the play has something for everyone in this fun, at times whacky, but ultimately inspiring production. Leaving "no-impact" on the earth- leaves a lasting impact on the audience!" ~ Catherine Silverglen (OCT)
Scene Change theater projects tell stories about inspiring young people who step up to the plate and do what they can do to build a more just and compassionate world. These stories help us re-imagine what the world can look like and remind us of the great things we can do in the world.

This show is sure to be fantastic! Be sure to make your way down to come and see it! The show dates are as follows: Friday May 30 @ 12:30 pm. Saturday May 31 @ 7 pm. Sunday June 1 @ 2:30 pm. Tickets are being sold for $10 for all students, $15 adults, and $5 for all tickets on Friday May 30th.

These eclectic and versatile musicians will improvise their way around this array of cool sounding oddities.

"Voodoo-influenced, maritime country with hints of electro-acoustic experimentation" BROKEN PENCIL MAGAZINE- Toronto. "......a high degree of musicianship. These aren't "joke" songs but witty, sometimes strange, interesting, catchy numbers. The guitar and vocal work are superb. There's even a bit of an edgy, alternative vibe at play here."
